I was born when Eisenhower was President and grew up mostly in Ohio. I joined the Air Force after three years of college and spent three years in Wiesbaden, Germany. I went back to school, got my BA in mathematics and English, got married, and went to grad school in 18th century British literature. I dropped out again and started working for a distributor of computer systems and parts. Eight years later I quit and launched my own business, which was successful, but not quite successful enough. I returned to the workforce in January 2006 as a customer service rep for a software firm that services the auto collision industry. In April 2009 I was laid off after a restructuring left too many account service managers in Minnesota. In February 2011 I went to work for Xerox, fixing copiers and printers. In July 2012 I joined NCR, where I worked as a customer engineer. I retired in January 2022, and keep busy with a part-time job at Sherwin-Williams.
